Job Description



Under the general direction of the IT Director for ITW’s Food Equipment Group (FEG), the incumbent will be responsible for leading the planning, development and support of the Information Technology systems for Hobart’s Sales and Marketing organization.   Systems include ERP, CRM, SharePoint and customer-facing applications for internal users and external sales teams.

Strong communication skills and business acumen are also required with Dynamics 365 implementation experience a definite plus.



•         Provides expert guidance, direction and leadership in the company’s selection and use of technologies by evaluating, planning and implementing an overall IT strategy that aligns with business goals to drive revenue growth and business value.

•         Provide leadership and direction through the assessment of the current systems and processes, as well as providing the role as software and system architect in the implementation of any determined changes.

•         Builds business cases for new applications and systems with the support and guidance of other IT and business unit leadership.

•         Provides functional and technical leadership for the Information Technology team.

•         Responsible for career and talent development for the IT team including performance management, goals and holding members accountable.

Desired Skills and Experience


•         Extensive working knowledge of integrated ERP software and its interaction with administrative and manufacturing support systems.

•         Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations is a definite plus.

•         Hands-on experience with Microsoft technologies such as Office 365 and Power BI.

•         Strategic-thinking ability as it relates to large-scale package system implementations, with the ability to configure contemporary systems rather than customize vendor products.

•         Well-developed communication skills in dealing with users at all service levels and locations.

•         The ability to design, develop and complete complex application development projects on a timely and cost- effective basis.

•         Ability to lead teams and manage relationships across the enterprise.

•         Identifies the need for change and acts as a change agent.

•         Provides recommendations to ensure the right people, processes, and structures are in place across the business.

•         Motivates through vision and builds a cohesive, disciplined team.

•         Demonstrates excellent time management and delegation skills.

•         Experience providing ongoing support within a manufacturing operation.

Job Requirements

Required Experience:

•         Bachelor’s degree in the field of computer science or related field.  Master’s degree or MBA is a definite plus.

•         5-10 years application development experience

•         3-5 years project management experience

•         1-3 years IT management, supervisory, or team leader experience.

•         Experience implementing and supporting an integrated ERP system.

•         Experience with systems design and development from business requirements analysis through to day-to-day management including excellent understanding of project management and SDLC principles.

•         Proven experience in IT planning, organization, and development.

•         Strong understanding of human resource management principles, practices, and procedures including the ability to motivate in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. 

•         Excellent written and oral communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills.

•         Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language and an exceptional service orientation. 

•         Exceptionally self-motivated and directed with a keen attention to detail. 

•         Superior analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities.
