Title:                 International Sales Manager

Summary:

International Sales Manager manages and directs the International Sales Team to achieve global sales and profit goals.  This individual will be responsible for leading a cross-functional international business team and coordinate the operations of the sales department across the globe by establishing goals and monitoring the volume of sales from all members of the international team. This Manager will maximize sales revenue in existing markets, expand sales into new territories, and research trends to develop accurate sales projections for Car Care and Professional Automotive Products.  The International department at ITW Professional Automotive Products is responsible for selling all ITW Global Brands to customers in all countries of the world except the USA and Canada. 

Essential Functions

  • Managing organizational sales by developing a business plan that covers sales, revenue and expense controls with emphasis in overall growth strategy year over year.
  • Identify new business opportunities in each market
  • Manage global sales team (2 regional managers + 3 sales reps)
  • Achieve sales volume and outlook accuracy
  • Achieve margin and profitability goals
  • Identify market trends and make recommendations as needed
  • Cultivate and manage the distributor network around the world
  • Coach, guide and motivate sales team. Ensure that results are being obtained through sales managers
  • Manage International P&L, ensure revenue, expenses and net profitability parameters are achieved within proposed annual plan. 
  • Participate in international trade show activities. Interacts with potential leads, responds to inquiries and provides timely and appropriate follow up with customers.
  • Must be aware of international variances in cultural and legal issues pertaining to sales.
  • Assist in developing all marketing and promotional programs with the marketing department.
  • Develop a competitive pricing strategy for each specific region and make changes as needed
  • Work with R&D to develop new products based on feedback from customers in each market.
  • Supervise entire order processing cycle. Work with Customer Service, Distribution, Logistics, Supply Chain and Finance to ensure orders are received, processed and exported in a timely manner.
  • Work with Technical Services to ensure support for international customers. 

Position Overview

  • The International Sales Manager will be a member of the Senior Leadership Team at ProAP. This role is involved in broad aspects of the business to provide timely answers and information to our International representatives and distributors.  It will require travel (50% – 75%)
  • Candidate must be detail oriented, demonstrate consistent follow through and have the ability to establish and work within company processes and procedures. 
  • Candidate must be capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and issues requiring coordination with other departments.
  • Candidate must be an exceptional communicator with strong written and verbal presentation skills.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Set plans and strategy to grow the product portfolio.
  • Making sure that the sales operations are completed in agreement with the regulations and policies of the organization
  • Implement highly focused brand plans that target a small number of big ideas.
  • Cultivate relationships and strategic partnerships with key internal parties to effectively lead cross functional teams and secure internal buy-in.
  • Track and measure sales health throughout each month.
  • Work with agencies, evaluate creative and provide strong constructive feedback.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business administration or related major.
  • 3-6 years of experience in planning and implementing sales strategies and in customer relationship management.
  • 3+ years of proven experience managing and directing a sales team.
  • Proven track record of positive sales performance
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Dedication to providing great customer service.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools including Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • Must be able to write clearly and concisely to foreign customers whose first language is not English.
  • Must be persistent and enthusiastic, with an upbeat personality and a high level of resilience and adaptability.

Preferred:

  • International travel experience
  • Foreign languages skills – Spanish a plus
