Job Description

As a key member of the engineering team, the Installation Supervisor reports to the Application and Execution Manager and is responsible for supervising the installation of production lines for our key customers. This position is also responsible for leading, planning and managing the contractors during the entire scope of the installation phase of the project.

The position can be based out of our headquarters in our Greenville, South Carolina location or a mutually agreed upon location.

What you will be doing:

Strategic Planning

  • You will work with the Project Manager to understand and implement our execution strategy and ensure the project installation is completed within budget and on schedule.
  • You will ensure that the vision and strategic plan is followed to meet the customer’s expectations.
  • You will assist department in meeting the KPIs established by the Application and Execution manager.

Application and Execution Support

  • You will assist the Application and Execution team to deliver best in class commercial product and services in line with key market requirements, while following the department procedures and practices to improve deliverable lead times, quality and project close rates.
  • You will manage and provide technical direction of on-site contractors and equipment suppliers.
  • You will ensure all safety regulations and standards are met at our respective customer sites.
  • You will maintain and update construction schedule and coordinates tie-ins and shut downs.
  • You will coordinate truck unloading and equipment rigging with the customer.
  • You will conduct daily construction coordination meetings.
  • You will monitor equipment installations for adherence to specifications.
  • You will monitor field change orders and works with the project manager for approval
  • You will work with customer’s support team to maintain project schedule.
  • You will notify the project team of any revisions required to the mechanical layout drawings and electrical schematics.
  • You will identify opportunities for continuous improvement to streamline the installation process.
  • You will assist the project manager in maintaining a punch list during the installation phase of a project.
  • You will perform other duties as assigned by the Integration Systems Manager.

Continuous Improvement

  • You will participate in continuous improvement initiatives which achieve results consistent with company goals.
  • You will understand the metrics and KPI targets for the department to drive best-in-industry performance to produce optimum manufacturing results and P&L improvement.

What we are looking for:            

  • Associates degree is desired but not required.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in assembly and installation of automated packaging lines, including the troubleshooting and repair of mechanical and electrical installation issues.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce results within a team environment and to gain alignment and develop productive working relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Must have hands-on secondary packaging machine and line installation experience with emphasis on the core markets that we serve which are food, beverage and personal and household care.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical layouts and electrical and pneumatic schematics and diagrams.
  • Experience with FANUC Robotics or other industrial robots is a plus
  • Understanding and exposure to PLC programming is a plus.
  • Able to define a problem, gather data to draw conclusions and develop appropriate plans to address
  • Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently and in a professional manner at customer facilities.
  • Ability to maintain composure during rapidly changing and stressful phases of a project.
  • Excellent time management, prioritization abilities and project management.
  • Familiarity with common Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Position requires 70-80% travel. Must have or be able to obtain a valid Driver’s License and U.S. Passport.
