Position Summary:

Accountable to the Strategic Marketing Director for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the United States sales market; achieving sales volume, margin and profit goals; analyzing customer base and creating appropriate sales plans and process’s to achieve goals; partnering with marketing department in developing an effective sales promotion, merchandising and competitive pricing program(s); for identifying long-term trends and business opportunities within the market; providing timely and accurate sales forecasts (outlook); and producing a set of options and an annual plan to support the corporate long-term business strategy.


  • Assist the Strategic Marketing in developing a long-term revenue strategy.
  • Develop and implement an annual business plan to achieve ITW Platform Goals and Objectives.
  • Achieve the sales volume, margin and profit goals for all assigned accounts.
  • Build and nurture a personal relationship with accounts so as to identify customer needs while simultaneously helping them understand ITW capabilities.
  • Partnering with the marketing team to develop a set of marketing and promotional strategies to support the long-range sales plan. Assist in developing all marketing and promotion programs with the marketing department.
  • Analyze and measure effectiveness and execution of marketing programs, pricing, products, promotions, etc. Perform feedback of marketing and promotional plans to marketing team.
  • Monitor marketing and promotional expenses (SD&A), work with Sales Support Manager to manage funds within assigned budget parameters.
  • Determine customer needs for existing and potential products and develop the demand for products.  Recommend development of new products to meet customer needs.
  • Work closely with the Brand and New Product Development teams within the Marketing Department to develop proper product and customer messaging.
  • Work closely with E-Commerce marketing team to implement B2C and B2B online sales and associated support programs
  • Manage sales agencies and personnel, including recruiting and selection when necessary.
  • Create, institute, and lead sales initiatives to benefit ITW and customers.
  • Take an active role in communicating with North American accounts, in conjunction with related Sales Rep Agencies.
  • Coordinate with internal departments in order to effectively communicate with Customers, Rep Agencies, information regarding new items, discontinued items (EOL), promotions and overstocks, pricing, Accounting issues, etc.
  • Strive to maintain a collection of current Domestic Customer agreements.
  • Provide regular Sales reports as requested by the various ITW Sales Teams.
  • Provide ad hoc reports/analytics to Sales/Marketing, Rep Agencies, and Customers, as needed.
  • Review monthly commission reports and obtain necessary Management approvals.
  • Provide applicable product information to support customer requirements.
  • Handle high impact and complex projects as requested by management.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Skills and Experience Requirements:

  • A 4 year degree in business, marketing or similar area.
  • Experience in automotive, retail and/or manufacturing is a plus.
  • Experience in collaborative leadership, must have exceptional people management skills.
  • Significant experience analyzing multiple data points to make solid recommendations to improve business results.
  • Strong computer skills, including but not limited to MS Office Suite
  • Must have a demonstrated ability to influence, negotiate and create win-win solutions.
  • History of building and maintaining positive working relationships.
  • Must possess exceptional communication skills, including but not limited to public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to react quickly to solve problems along with the ability to learn from mistakes or missteps.
