ITW Professional Automotive Products (ProAP) specializes in the manufacture of automotive service products including automotive maintenance chemicals, equipment, and wiper blades. The division manufacturers and markets the Wynn’s and Rain-X Professionalbrands. The selling channel is primarily the DIFM new car dealership arena. Major business segments include: New Car Dealers, Tire-Muffler-Brake and Quick-Lube stores and chains. Corporate offices and manufacturing are located in Lakeland, FL.


The Human Resources Manager provides strategic business partner support to the ProAP Business Unit Manager and the Lakeland, FL team.  The HR Manager reports to the Division HR Director with matrix reporting to the Business Unit Manager. This position will be responsible for a wide range of HR aspects to include Organization Design and Effectiveness, Talent Management, Talent Acquisition and Retention, Employee Development, Compensation, Employee Relations, and company culture. The Human Resources Manager will ensure the HR strategy aligns with business plans and strategic objectives. The HR Manager will collaborate across the business to identify and implement the best business solutions.

This role is based in Lakeland, FL.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Utilizing ITW’s unique business model, the HR Manager consults with and advises business leadership on organizational design to enable the business to grow and operate effectively including evaluating work structure, job design and role/responsibility clarity
  • Directs, recommends and communicates appropriate implementation of HR policies, practices, and initiatives.
  • Assesses organizational capabilities and identifies gaps, makes recommendation to Business Unit Manager and Division HR Director
  • Focal point for talent management, drives action plans for High Performers, Top Talent, Interns, etc., ensures development plans are in place, up to date, and actions lead to improved bench strength
  • Facilitates performance management process, ensures actions taken in a timely manner, with appropriate documentation to support actions
  • Plans and leads compensation planning annually / uses compensation planning tools to support compensation changes (promotions, job offers, etc.)
  • Collaborates with management to identify change management implications and develops change plans and communications plans as appropriate
  • Drives talent plans and strategies including assessments, calibration, development planning and succession planning
  • Leads and coaches’ managers / employees on the application of the performance management process to ensure full utilization of performance management tools including goal setting, performance feedback and evaluation/assessment to improve results
  • Educates and influences leaders and managers on building an inclusive culture within the workplace as well as identifies and develops action plans for areas of concern
  • Builds leader communications and assist managers by developing methods to share information with employees on business issues
  • Provides coaching and consultation on employee relation issues
  • Ensure open lines of communication’s’ for employees and managers
  • Aides in driving a ZERO Safety Incident culture
  • Other projects as required


  • Bachelor degree required; Master degree or HR Certification preferred
  • 9+ years of Human Resources experience
  • Strong Employee Relations experience; preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Prior experience recruiting experience and working with manufacturing operations
  • Prior experience supporting leaders as strategic partner
  • Experience in all facets of human resources including talent management, recruitment processes, employee relations and legal compliance requirements
  • Demonstrated strength in analyzing facts and issues, identifying options, and ability to decide and recommend a course of action—including ability to know when to compromise and when to be assertive
  • Knowledge and experience with Safety / OSHA regulations
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering results
  • Project / process management experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • HRIS experience preferred (Workday)
  • Up to 10% - 20% travel
