Job Description

As the Human Resource Manager, you will be an integral part of the organization, providing direction and input for all processes, functions, and development, related to the operations of a successful manufacturing facility.  Responsible to provide strategic as well as day-to-day professional HR support and policy administration relating to all phases of the employee life cycle (e.g. hiring, training, employee relations) plus HR business support such as organization design, talent planning and talent management. Role has single site responsibility and uses best practices and knowledge of internal business processes to manage and improve HR services.  Provides technical expertise, management reporting and is responsible for Legal compliance / Employment Law (e.g. annual Affirmative Action Plan).

 

Responsibilities

  • Plans, organizes, and controls all activities of the department. Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems. Implements and annually updates compensation program; rewrites job descriptions as necessary; conducts annual salary surveys and analyzes compensation; monitors performance evaluation program and revises as necessary.
  •  Develops, recommends, and implements personnel policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the business; prepares and maintains handbook on policies and procedures. 
  • Develops and maintains affirmative action program; maintains other records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
  •  Leads recruitment effort to source, evaluate, select and on-board new talent; conducts new-employee orientations; monitors career pathing program, employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling, and exit interviewing; writes and places advertisements. 
  • Establishes and maintains department records and reports. Participate in senior leadership staff meetings as a strategic partner and attends other meetings, such as seminars. Maintains company organization charts and assists with employee directory.
  • Evaluates reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed. 
  • Champion safety initiatives; including, support of the company safety program, investigate accidents, generate and submit compliance reports, manage worker compensation and return-to-work program, develop and implement safety recognition programs and monitor employee engagement.
  •  Administer and support corporate wellness program; promote employee participation, organize activities, and generate reports. 
  • Other duties as assigned to include additional projects, programs and continuing developmental activities.

  • Willing and able to manage and maintain all day to day HR operational responsibilities, including HR admin, Workers comp, FMLA etc.

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent

Required Experience

  • As this is a stand alone HR position, the ideal candidate will have had experience working autonomously.
  • Minimum (6) years’ progressive and diverse Human Resources experience in a manufacturing environment.

Preferred Experience

  • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential.
