Job Description: Human Resources Manager

Peerless Food Equipment, located in Sidney, OH, is known around the world for its legendary and innovative mixers that are used by the worlds’ leading bakeries to create doughs baked into loaves of bread, buns, cookies and crackers, pizzas, and so much more. Peerless also introduced the first high-speed sandwiching machine to the baking world, which is used to assemble the sandwich cookies that get dunked in milk by kids of all ages. We are currently seeking an HR Business Manager/Partner to join our dynamic company to play an integral role in maintaining Peerless’ industry leading reputation and growth by focusing on attracting, developing, and retaining strong, Peerless team members.

In this strategic role, you will partner with diverse teams across the organization, including Sales, Service, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Finance, to drive HR strategies and solutions. In this multifaceted role, you will serve as employee champion and change agent demonstrating a strong emphasis on increasing leadership capabilities, driving employee engagement and promoting a high performing work culture. You will serve as consultant to stakeholders and ensure HR practices, policies and tools are aligned and implemented in the organization. This includes performance and succession management, compensation process, employee engagement, safety and wellness, partnership in organizational design, and supporting talent and diversity initiatives. You will participate in cross-functional projects aimed at increasing productivity and support innovation and talent development. This position reports to the Business Unit Manager.

Job Responsibilities

Thought leadership:

 Partner with business leaders to provide relevant people solutions to business challenges

 Contribute insights into strategic planning and decision-making processes with the leadership team

Business Knowledge:

 Understands the core business operating dynamics and how we create value

 Comprehends business financials and analytical tools

 Fluent in organizational concepts and dynamics of change-understands how organizational capability can deliver business strategy and growth

Human Resources Excellence:

 Maintains positive employee relations by building a strong rapport across employee groups. Resolves issues and concerns in a timely manner

 Implements and applies HR processes, policies and standards in a way that fits local legislative and cultural environment; recommends and champions change to policy and procedures where necessary

Safety & Wellness:

 Champions corporate and local initiatives for the facility of 80+ employees, including training and compliance activities to ensure everyone goes home safely

Analytical Rigor & Problem Solving

 Differentiates root causes from symptoms to drive issue resolution activities

 Performs necessary data collection and investigation to assess and recommend solutions

Talent Champion:

 Partners with leadership to recruit and retain top talent and engage employees in their full potential

 Engages teams in workforce planning and building meaningful development plans designed to prepare talent for future business needs

 Drives performance management and compensation cycles to ensure calibrated talent appraisal and rewards

Coach:

 Acts as a coach and source of advice on performance and development issues- intervening where necessary to improve management and team effectiveness

 Demonstrates emotional intelligence and environmental awareness

Job Requirements

Required Skills and Experiences

  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

  7+ years of experience in human resources

  Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications and HRIS systems

  Experience working in a manufacturing or related environment a plus

  HR Certification (SHRM, HRCI) a plus
