Job Description

The Global Innovation Manager will be support the Global Innovation Team for the ITW Construction Segment and will be responsible for leading cross-functional teams to assess the ITW growth potential for new technologies, new markets, or both. This position will be responsible for the research, development and execution of products utilizing the ITW Customer Back Innovation process. This includes defining the value proposition and developing and building business cases for implementation at Divisions.

ITW’s Construction Products Segment, with revenues of approximately 1.7 billion dollars, is a global leader in providing fastening systems and truss products for the residential, commercial, and renovation sectors.  Key brands include: Paslode, Buildex, SPIT, Ramset, Red Head, Alpine, and ITW brands.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Execute the ITW Customer Back Innovation process
  • Create market segmentation
  • Identify market potential and attractiveness to ITW
  • Lead and conduct customer back research including interviewing and managing third party resources
  • Effectively lead cross-Divisional teams
  • Analyze data from customer back research and prioritize opportunities
  • Conduct competitive analysis
  • Lead the development and creation of the value proposition
  • Build business cases based on relevant value propositions
  • Communicate project progressions and challenges to both Global Innovation and Divisional leadership
  • Identify program challenges and make recommendations to overcome
  • Make go/no-go recommendations about further resource investments

 Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • MBA preferred
  • A minimum of 4 years of marketing experience preferred; new product development experience, from inception to product introduction and full product lifecycle management preferred
  • Experience with durable goods is preferred
  • Financial acumen to analyze financial results and new market opportunities is preferred
  • Advanced skills in Excel, Word and Power Point are required
  • The ability to travel approximately 25-35%, including internationally, is required
  • Strong team/project management, communications, and presentation skill
