Position Summary
 
We have an exciting new opportunity for a Field Application Engineer to join our North American Sales Team.  This position is responsible for supporting Instron’s range of advanced materials testing systems and accessories.  Our customers use Instron’s products to test a wide range of materials such as metals, plastics and composites within a diverse range of industries including biomedical, aerospace, electronics and automotive.  Our systems can be found in quality control, research and development and educational laboratories throughout the world. 
 
In this role you will spend at least a year at our Static Equipment Center of Excellence in Massachusetts, working closely with the Inside Sales Group and Applications Laboratory to learn the operation and applications of our products.  During this time you will conduct sample testing for customers, provide onsite product demonstrations and gain valuable experience in applications consulting, sales support, and business development.
 
Ultimately this experience will prepare you to take full responsibility for a sales territory within the continental United States.  Travel to customer sites, technical conferences, exhibitions and seminars is estimated to be up to 50%.
 
Requirements
 
Successful candidates should have a technical Bachelor’s Degree (e.g. materials science or mechanical/electrical/biomedical/chemical engineering), combined with some work experience.  Additional requirements include:
