Job Description


This position will assist engineering in the support of new and current designs of a variety of different products in the Welding Accessories Group. The candidate will assist the Engineers and Senior Lab Technician in testing of engineering prototypes, documentation of test results, and maintaining lab tools and equipment in an orderly fashion. She or he will also assist with line support and other duties as needed.


  • Set-up and execute various types of engineering tests including, but not limited to V-A curves, heat, dielectric strength, ingress protection, PCB qualification, and reliability tests.
  • Diagnose and correct issues resulting during production, development, and sustaining engineering efforts (cost reductions, end of life parts, alternative sourcing, etc).
  • Support manufacturing operations by troubleshooting production test equipment, analyzing manufacturing line failures, and facilitating corrective actions through engineering, manufacturing, quality, and materials groups.
  • Willingness to learn and ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities in a dynamic environment while maintaining a focus on safety.
  • Work closely with Miller's Third-Party Certification Coordinator to construct, revise, and keep current third-party reports such as CSA, NIOSH, ETL, ANSI, etc.
  • Create and sustain manufacturing test documentation.
  • Sustain a safety focused culture within the laboratory environment.
  • Perform quality audits on finished goods and accessories.


  • 2 year technical degree in electronics, electro-mechanical or related field OR a minimum of 3 years of experience in engineering product development and/or support is required
  • Candidate must be a team player with a positive attitude, high motivation and excellent interpersonal skills who works well in a business unit team environment with minimum supervision.
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Word, Excel and ability to write accurate and concise reports is required
  • Up to 5% travel may be required
