Job Description

Our Engineering team is tasked with developing and maintaining innovative MIG welding products.  As a key member of our Engineering team, you will focus on supporting the technical documentation and validation testing related to the design, development and improvement of our products.


•        Creation and modification of 3D CAD models.

•        Documentation liaison between Engineering, Materials, Marketing, Service and Accounting teams as well as internal and external suppliers – scrub engineering drawings to ensure no sensitive info is given away.

•        Update and maintain RoHS & Conflict Minerals databases.

•        Creation, modification and processing of ECO's, part numbers & breakdowns, and Bills of Material.

•        Collaborate with the Field Technical Services, Product Management, and Marketing teams to create and revise Owner's Manuals, Technical Manuals, Field Instructions, Marketing Content, including updates to the Tech Resources Database, and website including ‘Master Data Management’ (MDM) database updates.

•        Understands implications and strategy to form, fit, and function for ECO's

•        Conduct testing for New Product Development and ongoing compliance needs as directed by Engineering, based on new part releases, vendor changes, continuous improvement, CAR and Warranty analysis.

•        Setup instrumentation and perform various engineering test using data acquisition.

•        Write test reports to summarize test procedure, observations and conclusions.

•        Answer phone calls, emails, and web inquiries from sales, distributors and end-users of a technical nature.


Job Requirements


The candidate must have completed post-secondary education in an engineering related field, a technical degree, or have related industry experience.


•        Must have knowledge of Engineering drawings, and ability to create and modify models within CAD (SolidWorks and Solid Edge preferred).

•        Must have strong computer skills, especially with MS Office.

•        Must be extremely detail oriented, organized, and willing to seek out information to ensure full and accurate documentation.

•        Must have hands on knowledge, experience, and understanding of MIG welding equipment and processes.

•        Must possess great communication and prioritization skills, be a self-starter, work efficiently with minimal supervision, and perform well in a team-oriented environment.

•        High mechanical aptitude to assess product failure modes, Engineering Change Order (ECO) implications, and assess the effectiveness of test procedures.

•        A good understanding of how products are manufactured to be able to structure BOMs properly, preferred.

•        Familiarity with MIG Welding equipment, process, and/or industrial automation preferred.
