Overview*:

ITW Construction provides a variety of fastening systems and truss products for the commercial, residential, and remodeling/renovation segments. With products manufactured at locations around the globe serving markets in North America, Europe, Asia, New Zealand and Australia. The Global Tool Unit (GTU) is a part of ITW’s Construction Segment. The GTU aims to be the global leader of high performing Cordless Power Fastening Systems for the professional construction trades through innovation and delivery of high-quality products. Our highly differentiated tools are specified to be used in a variety of applications including wood framing, wood trim, and steel to concrete installations. Tools, and related fasteners, account for a significant portion of total segment revenues.


Responsibilities:

Elevate the organizational capabilities to drive New Product Development and Execution Excellence with Speed

New Product Development Project Execution_Deliver Results

  • Mainly responsible for the successful NPD project execution and long term performance of the assigned product segment in high collaboration with Marketing.
  • Create appropriate technical plans, upgrade and execute design excellence best practices and ensures key performance indicators.
  • Lead engineers to focus on effectively identifying and mitigating key technical risks ( i.e. using DVP&R), driving systematic problem solving (using tools such as A3, DFMEA, Design of Experiments) and enhancing design inputs through early engagement of cross-functional teamwork (DFMA, T-stack up, Serviceability reviews, etc.)
  • Mentors the team and effectively translates Voice of the Customer into technical and system engineering requirements that will solve our key customer’s needs.

Requirements:
  • Multi-year cycles of success driving product innovation, including demonstrated results effectively leading the NPD of complete products or complex subsets of a product through all phases of a stage-gate process.
  • Demonstrated customer driven and highly cross-functional approach.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive robust designs (technical feasibility and design for manufacturing) and application of system engineering concepts.
  • Strong influence skills and ability to successfully collaborate with global stakeholders
