Job Description


Provide engineering and quality management for all previous and current Industrial Welding Equipment. This individual will be responsible for managing a team of individuals to provide engineering and lab services in support of production demand, quality, warranty, cost reduction, and value engineering objectives.


• Collaborate with Quality and Materials management to identify and drive key process indicators (metrics) related to warranty, quality, and cost reduction performance.

• Work proactively with divisional and category sourcing teams to identify opportunities and implement cost savings initiatives.

• Collaborate with Quality, Materials, Manufacturing Engineering, and NPD Engineering to ensure production readiness with new product launches.

• Work proactively with New Product Development Engineering to mitigate warranty risk associated with new product designs.

• Develop, support, and maintain best practices for the sourcing of finished goods, including sampling plans, design forms, strategy, supplier evaluation, and reporting.

• Allocate team resources based on project/task feasibility, cost, schedule, capabilities, and resource requirements.

• Manage staffing requirements through the recruiting, interviewing, and selection of candidates.

• Responsible for the development, morale, and motivation of the team.

• Conduct performance appraisals and provide performance reviews to help identify opportunities, recognize accomplishments, and assist in setting goals and career objectives.

• Other duties as needed.


• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 5 years of experience as an individual contributor

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Excellent facilitation skills

• Ability to lead individuals and groups, effectively utilize available resources, and delegate work effectively to achieve department and company goals.

• Strong project management and organizational skills

• Experience in a manufacturing and assembly environment


• Understanding of PCB layout and PCBA manufacturing processes

• Training in problem solving, continuous improvement, quality engineering, and/or Six Sigma

• Ability to grow in a new role with minimal guidance

• Proven record of implementing change and measurable impact in manufacturing value

• Experience in supporting a safety culture

• Familiarity with CAN-CSA, CE, CCC, and IEC specifications
