Job Description

ITW Shakeproof Automotive seeks an engineering coordinator who will serve as a key member of our Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) team through activities such as cost estimation and awarded business reviewi.  This individual will be required to
nterface with multiple levels of personnel inside and outside of ITW. They should be self-motivated and have a continuous improvement mindset. The coordinator will be located at our Elgin, Illinois facility, but will provide remote support to engineering personnel
at every Shakeproof location.

  

Job Responsibilities:


  • Coordinates quoting process for new business opportunities. This includes direct interaction with our process engineers and outside vendors during the cost estimation process.
  • Performs a new business review on all new business notifications sent by Shakeproof’s Michigan sales team.  This review ensures the accuracy of the information being communicated to our operations team.
  • Completes new part setup and routing selection for newly awarded business using internal ITW systems.
  • Prepares monthly summary of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the APQP process.
  • Assists in the maintenance of engineering department records such as drawings, product specifications, and part number controls.
  • Compiles training material for engineering and shop personnel.
  • Monitors customer APQP portals to ensure timely PPAP response.
  • Completes Annual Validation PPAPs under guidance of the PPAP Engineer.
  • Others duties as assigned.

  • A high school diploma and relevant experience in engineering or manufacturing required
  • Elevated proficiency with Microsoft Office software package; specifically Excel, PowerPoint and Word. Additionally, AutoCAD experience is preferred
  • Strong attention to detail, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Aptitude to multi-task while maintaining highest levels of accuracy.
  • An inner drive to understand, communicate and exceed established goals.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills with ability and willingness to communicate and work with other departments and facilities.
  • Proven ability to work on a team while generating respect and trust from staff as well as external customers
