Job Summary 


The position will be based in our headquarters Hendersonville, TN. 15 miles northeast of downtown Nashville. The Electronics/Controls Engineer will apply knowledge in electronics and mechanics, to develop, program, troubleshoot, and repair, primarily embedded systems involving electrical and electronic components/circuitry. As part of a global engineering team, the Electronics/Controls Engineer will work independently while under the guidance of a senior engineer to accomplish overall strategic team objectives while providing tactical operational support. No relocation available.

Primary Responsibilities


  • Design and program embedded/control systems. Perform testing, start-up, and troubleshooting of the same.
  • Assemble and document testing of electronic units, circuitry, or electrical system components; analyze results to evaluate performance.
  • Work on AC and DC systems up to 480 volts.
  • Panel box layout and component specification for proprietary microcontroller based and 3rd party PLC based control systems
  • Support field bus communication integration
  • Research equipment or component needs, sources, competitive prices and delivery times.
  • Support root cause/failure analysis activities as part of quality driven 8D process
  • Provide support and education, working with users to identify needs, determine sources of problems, or to provide information on product use. Prepare in-house training documents, reports, flow diagrams, charts, specifications and standard operating instructions for processes and equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned by Global New Product Manager


Minimum Requirements


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; Electrical/Electronic preferred
  • Knowledge of C++ programming
  • Basic knowledge of hardware design
  • Arduino or other microcontroller programming experience
  • Experience in the design, troubleshooting and operation of microcontroller based control systems.
  • Broad knowledge of mechanical systems and manufacturing processes.
  • Exposure to networking of control systems involving PC, microcontrollers, PLCs and related operating systems.
  • Familiarity with PLC based systems and with integration of differing field bus communication protocols between system components
  • Ability to travel occasionally domestically and internationally
  • English language proficiency
  • Aptitude for critical/strategic thinking with respect to product development
  • Good computer skills utilizing Microsoft Office, Outlook and Internet programs
  • Must be a self-starter, and a good team player and possess the ability to make independent decisions and follow through to completion
  • Good communication and listening skills
