Job Description

Hobart Weigh/Wrap is part of the ITW Food Equipment Group. This position will be based in Troy, Ohio.  

Summary

Develop, test, and maintain high quality control electronics for scale and wrapper products. Participate in the testing process through design reviews and analysis as well as witness testing and certification of electronics. Rely on instructions and guidelines to perform the functions of the job and work with little supervision.  Creativity and innovation are very important aspects of this position.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

 You will be working with a cross-functional team to plan, develop, and implement projects to support our retail scale and automated wrapping systems.

 One of your most important duties will be to design and evaluate electronic hardware design, electrical components, and systems using engineering best practices and principles.

 You should be able to write design documents and ensure requirements are developed with correct metrics to ensure a quality product.

Job Requirements

Qualifications

  Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (4 Year Degree)

  At least 2 years of product design and development experience

  Experience designing mixed signal circuit boards containing microcontrollers

  Ability to develop board level test procedures and test equipment

  Legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer and will not require employment visa sponsorship now or in the future

Bonus Qualifications

  Familiarity with NXP and Atmel MCU product line and designs a plus

  Familiarity with the following protocols (i2c, SPI, USB, CAN)

  Familiarity with Labview and Digital Acquisition Systems

  Software development in the C or C++ programming language

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions

  You will work in a team-oriented office and lab environment

  Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
