Job Description

The Electrical Engineer is responsible for assisting in all levels of engineering projects (existing and future development). They will be involved with designing, developing and maintaining electrical control systems, machinery and equipment and working with various teams throughout the organization including Product Management, Production, Service, Sales, and Strategic Sourcing.

  • Develop firmware for both the development of products as well as supporting existing products.
  • Design and test new circuit boards and software architecture.
  • Redesign circuit boards or replace parts.
  • Develop new hardware for products.
  • Generate program code for product and test and debug code.
  • Fix software bugs.
  • Develop solutions for products when parts are being obsoleted.
  • Prepare software tools and fixtures used by manufacturing, write work instruction sheets and test procedures.
  • Write and review product manuals, engineering change orders, technical bulletins, and firmware release notes.
  • Conduct functional testing of product.
  • Test and/or verify new equipment or software function.
  • Recommend and implement new product improvements.
  • Assist internal departments with technical issues and customer requirements.
  • Evaluate customer requests for new features as to feasibility, time required to implement, and risk (how likely it is that it will introduce new bugs into the system).
  • Maintain documentation for all changes made to products; communicate to internal and external teams when changes are made.
  • Maintains focus on continuous improvement by applying 80/20, PLS, and USa principles/techniques and makes process improvement recommendations to management.

Job Requirements

Education:  Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field required.

Experience/Skills: 

  • Minimum five (5) years previous work experience required.
  • Proficiency in Embedded C, C++, C# Programming, Schematic Capture, and Layout
  • Excellent problem solving, attention to detail and decision-making skills
  • Ability to collaborate in the development process with a cross functional team
  • Analysis skills to aid in defining continuous improvement
  • Ability to work on cross-functional teams
  • Technical writing and process documentation skills required (MS Office)
