Electrical Engineer – Designer: Hartness International, an ITW Company

The Electrical Designer position with Hartness International requires the candidate to e able to design and test Programmable Logic Control (PLC) based control systems. The position involves the use of Autocad to design and layout panels according to the National Electrical Code (NEC) guidelines, arranging input/output (I/O) diagrams, machine electrical layout diagrams, and other developments as required related to the position.

 What you will do:

• You will design control panels utilizing Autocad
• You will develop bill of materials for control panels and machine electricals
• You will design brackets and fixtures for machine mounted controls
• You will design the integration of peripheral equipment to control systems
• You will develop electrical engineering standard
• You will correctly select and apply control components
• You will Develop and maintain schedules and track works in progress
• You will communicate shared files, spreadsheet lists, and document files
• You will review and evaluate customer specification packages as well as price solutions

 What we are looking for:

• Experience in laying out control systems for machinery
• Autocad skills to make electrical drawings and panel layouts
• Ability to work as part of a team toward common goals
• Familiarity with common Microsoft office projects including spreadsheets, Databases and documents
• Knowledge of the NEC, and common electrical practices
• Knowledge of electrical devices common in industrial settings
• Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively
• Must be able to obtain a passport and be willing to spend up to 10% of available time in the field. Travel requirement is mostly within the Domestic (U.S)

 Experience & Education:

• Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience), and 1+ year of experience control panels for machinery
