POSITION SUMMARY


The primary focus for this position is to ensure that Kester’s facilities comply with all applicable environmental, health and safety regulations



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



•        Manage the maintenance and implementation of safety programs, compliance plans, and initiatives.



•        Participate in the investigation of incidents, near misses and property damage incidents. Ensure follow-up is done to minimize future exposure and proper records/documents are maintained.



•        Conduct, coordinate and track various training to support company programs.



•        Conduct routine safety & regulatory audits to ensure compliance with EHS regulatory agencies, company environmental, health, and safety policies, procedures and practices.



•        Maintain internal and regulatory reporting including data collection



•        Ensure the company meets all its legislative compliance obligations with OSHA, EPA, ADA, and fire codes.



•        Serve as primary contact for all regulatory agencies for inspections, permitting, reporting (air, water, waste).



•        Maintain compliance with permits, government regulations and other industry practices.



•        Keep abreast of any safety and environmental law or regulation changes that impact the organization.


  • Maintain required safety and health program documentation. Establish systems and procedures to ensure that all sites maintain required safety and compliance documentation.

  • Maintain the company’s ISO14001 environmental management system.


 

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS


  • BS Degree in EH&S or related field.

  • 3-5 years of EH&S experience; experience managing environmental permits and record keeping requirements for global chemical company preferred.

  • EH&S related certifications (CSP, ASP, CIH, CFPS, CHMM) strongly preferred.

  • Thorough knowledge of OSHA, EPA, RCRA & DOT regulations.

  • Training experience and related certifications including, LOTO, Fork Lift, Haz-Com, Haz-Waste, etc. required.

  • Strong PC skills including, Outlook, Microsoft Office Suite, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel through management, regarding issues and solutions.
