Job Description

DESCRIPTION: This position will be responsible for being the senior financial leader for the Latin America Division that includes Mexico, Central and South America, and Brazil.  The candidate chosen will function as a key position within the management team and will perform the following:

Responsibilities:

  • Work in concert with GM and leadership team to develop and execute the strategic direction of the business               
    • Ability to quickly assimilate external information (e.g. market drivers, macroeconomic conditions, etc.) to anticipate its impact across the global business.
    • Demonstrates the ability to look ahead and anticipate future trends – not only report results but predict future results.
    • Evaluate investment opportunities using various financial tools (e.g. acquisitions, capital expenditures, restructurings).
  • Provides complete financial leadership for the division
    • Partner with GM and Platform Controller on business issues – “viewed as the right hand person".
    • Demonstrates solid understanding and ensures compliance with all statutory reporting/company policies and procedures.  Manages policies and processes effectively to ensure accuracy of the financial data.
    • Analytical and Inquisitive – able to explain the story behind the numbers and discern when something does not make sense.  Comes with alternative solutions when presenting a problem.
  • Provides effective people leadership that includes:
    • Manages and develops a high performing.
    • Helps people in the business understand how their choices and decisions will impact the financials.  Identifies, communicates, and trains other on key business drivers.
    • Uses personal influence skills rather than position power to persuade others and gain support.
  • Demonstrates strong communication and personal effectiveness
    • Presents an objective opinion as input for business decisions based on facts, data, and analysis.
    • Must have a distinct ability to effectively communicate different points of view (“devil’s advocate) across all levels of the organization.
    • Strong communication skills and leadership presence when presenting to platform and segment lever leadership.
    • Must have a keen sense of self-awareness and be open to feedback from leadership, peers, and direct reports.
  • Effective Project Management and mastery of the ITW Toolbox
  • Demonstrates effective project/change management skills.

  • Must eagerly learn, understand, and become proficient with the ITW toolbox and can assess the effectiveness in the Division.

  • Uses 80/20 thinking and sound judgement to analyze processes, and identify and act upon opportunities to simplify and reduce complexity.

Job Requirements

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A 4-Year Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Master’s degree and CPA preferred.

  • Minimum of 10 years’ broad financial experience, including prior responsibility for a full business with consolidations and financial systems responsibilities.  Multi-location experience preferred.

  • Proven results in managing and developing talent.

  • Strong track record of driving financial improvements to support the business strategy.

  • Proven track record of leadership and collaboration skills, demonstrating a positive attitude, personal accountability, coaching skills, effective listening skills, and approachability.

  • Ability to resolve issues/conflicts in timely manner.

  • Proven ability to apply ITW principles in a financial environment.

  • Aggressive self-starter who is able to function under minimal supervision.

  • Strong computer, oral and written communication skills is required (Word and Excel).

  • Travel – Up to 30%
