Division Overview:

Fluids North America is a $145M division in the Polymers and Fluids Segment/Fluids Platform that produces industrial lubricants, cleaners, degreasers, and marking paints for Industrial MRO, Auto OEM, and Aerospace markets globally. We have approximately 250 employees across our sites in Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas and Maryland.

Position Summary:

The Division Quality Systems Manager is responsible for implementing and maintaining quality management systems for the division. This position is responsible for overseeing the total quality function: continuous improvement, customer satisfaction, measurability, managerial involvement, and organizational support. 

Core Responsibilities: 

  • Manages the Quality Systems at the division’s three manufacturing facilities, including leadership in the development, revision, training, and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures to meet Quality Management System requirements.  
  • Leads efforts and maintains externally-certified business processes like ISO certifications and other specific business/industry standards.
  • Drives continuous improvement projects and ensures business procedures throughout the division follow best practices.
  • Partners with the division management team and works cross-functionally to drive quality improvement initiatives.
  • Responsible for QC, sustained product quality, product and process consistency, continuous improvement, and governance across the division.
  • Serves as the Management Representative of the Quality System for all communications and dealings with governing and certifying bodies.
  • Oversees development and maintenance of appropriate analytical testing instrumentation and processes in QC laboratories.
  • Manages, trains, and develops the Quality department staff to support the QMS.
  • Provides Quality oversight, including problem resolution of production processes and other business processes, as pertains to the Quality System.
  • Ensures capable processes are in place to address customer claims and production quality issues; ensure corrective actions are properly communicated to customers (in partnership with customer service and sales organizations).
  • Supports the Design Control Process for New Product Development.
  • Any and all additional (reasonable and appropriate) duties as assigned. 

Job Requirements

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, or any discipline related directly to Manufacturing Operations or Quality Systems.
  • 2+ years in implementing, validating, and auditing processes and procedures; resolving issues and reporting to regulatory agencies and other governing bodies; and specifying, conducting, and troubleshooting analytical testing procedures.
  • 5+ years work experience at a management level with primary responsibilities for implementing and main-training quality management systems in a manufacturing environment, including experience in achieving and maintaining ISO 9001 certification.
  • 5+ years experience in the chemical industry a plus.
  • Must be able to travel 25-50% to other company sites and industry functions. Some international travel may be required.
  • Demonstrate ability to produce results within a team environment and to develop productive working relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and Outlook, proficient with current technology.
  • Must have the skill set to identify, analyze and resolve problems using 80/20 and continuous improvement methods.
  • Problem Solving - identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; gathers and analyzes information skillfully.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Oral Communication - speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; demonstrates presentation skills.
  • Written Communication - writes clearly and informatively; presents numerical data effectively; able to read and interpret written information.
  • Detail oriented with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects and complete assignments quickly and accurately.
