Location: Houston, TX

Division:  ITW Polymers Sealants North America

The EH&S Manager is responsible for ensuring Safe and Compliant Operations across all sites in the division. The EH&S Manager leads the development and implementation of programs, policies, and procedures with a continuous improvement mindset.


• Develops relationships at the site level with leadership and employees to ensure our team members return home safely every day.

• Develops and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations.

• Maintains all environmental permits per their specific record keeping requirements.

• Plans and delivers training program for the OSHA mandated requirements as well as site specific hazard training.

• Leads the root cause discovery process for all Medically Treated Incidents, Lost Time Accidents, and Serious Near Miss incidents.

• Shares best practices across the division working with Plant Managers and their teams to develop safety goals and objectives.

• Assists as needed with regulatory inspections and the preparation of materials to be used in hearings, lawsuits, and insurance investigations as required.

• Acts as the division liaison with all government and regulatory agencies.

• Ensures records are kept relative to all site for air, water, and waste permits.

• Maintains required safety and health program documentation. Establishes systems and procedures to ensure supported sites maintain required safety and compliance documentation.

• Manages the administration of the workers compensation program including working with the insurance carrier and health care professionals to reduce the duration of disability through application of various light duty and return-to-work strategies.

Required Job Skills & Competencies

• At least 7 years of experience as an EHS Manager with multi-site experience.

• BS Degree. HSE Certifications strongly desired.

• Advanced knowledge of regulatory agency requirements and industry standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, GHS, REACH, etc.)

• Willingness and ability to travel to supported sites regularly and as needed on an emergency basis; at least 40%.

• Experience working in Chemical manufacturing sites including familiarity with specific hazards relative to our industry.

• Experience working cross functionally in a matrix organization to achieve results.

• Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate effectively to all levels of the organization.

• Strong bias for action and rigor to process.


  • Frequently exposed to a manufacturing environment with limited heat or air conditioning. Conditions may be cold or extremely hot and humid.
  • Possible exposure to fumes and/or airborne particles, and to the hazards of moving equipment and moving mechanical parts, requiring the use of personal protective safety equipment (PPE’s).
