Division Description: 

ITW Deltar Fasteners serves all the major OEMs and their tier suppliers with plastic fasteners totaling approximately $260M in revenues. Units include:  Frankfort, IL; Chippewa Falls, WI and our Commercial Sales and Engineering in Troy, MI.

As the Divivision Controller for Deltar Fasteners you will function as a key member of the leadership team. You will report to the VP/GM and responsible for leading the Accounting, Finance and IT functions within the ITW Leadership Expectations.


  • Provide visibility to plant management of key metrics throughout the month (daily, weekly, MTD actual vs forecast)
  • Partner with plant management to monitor plant performance and identify ways to improve cost specifically in the areas of 100% sort, chargebacks, premium freight and productivity
  • Report mid-month, 5 day and actual results of operations
  • Analyze and provide clear communications to management regarding significant variances to forecast and plan
  • Analyze and understand trends, both positive and negative, and leverage that knowledge across the business
  • Provide monthly segmented P&Ls by facility to help the sales and operations teams drive more profitable business decisions within the division
  • Work with plant management to drive improvements in the monthly and critical quarter forecasting process to produce more timely and accurate forecasts
  • Assist in preparing financial justification for capital requests including ROI, NPV, Payback
  • Lead financial planning activities including the annual budget and long range strategic planning process
  • Lead and/or participate in ITW Toolbox Initiatives within the business (80/20, USa, PLS)
  • Lead and manage the accounting, finance and IT teams to higher levels of performance, instilling a continuous improvement mindset within the group
  • Manage monthly close activities to ensure books are closed in a timely and accurate manner
  • Monitor internal control structure to ensure compliance with ITW Financial policies
  • Other projects as business requires.

Job Requirements

•         Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting; a CPA or CMA is preferred along with a strong inventory/cost background

•         5-7 years Plant Controller experience in a manufacturing environment with either (a) multi-site responsibility or (b) greater than $100 million in annual revenue

•         Controller or Assistant Controller experience at a publicly traded company is preferred

•         Public accounting / auditing experience is a plus

•         Proven track record for implementing controls, processes and procedures

•         Proven track record for assisting operations in driving waste costs from the business

•         Strong analytical and problem solving experience with 80/20 mindset

•         Ability to set key financial performance indicators and effectively communicate financial analysis and recommendations to management to improve financial performance

•         Proven time management and prioritization ability

•         Prior supervisory/management experience

•         Demonstrated ability to develop self and others for future opportunities in the organization

•         Demonstrates solid understanding of and ensures compliance with ITW Financial Policies and Procedures

•         Strong written and verbal communication skills
