Due to continued growth, Hobart Service is looking for an experienced Dispatcher to join their Raleigh, NC team.

This position is under the close direction of a District Manager. The selected candidate will perform a variety of duties associated with the dispatching functions in order to provide prompt and efficient service to our customers. Working in a fast-paced environment and Attention to detail is critical for the success of this position.  There will be frequent contact with Branch employees and constant contact with customers and other outside personnel, requiring more than ordinary courtesy and tact to establish and maintain good customer relations.  You will work with confidential data where the effect of any disclosure may have an impact on the business.

General Duties:
  • First responder for incoming telephone service requests
  • Log customer service calls with all pertinent information in system including: detailed description of service needs, equipment, customer service times, etc.
  • Monitor and analyze service calls and dispatch technicians according to priority, location and account status
  • Maintain follow up system for parts ordered 
  • Prepare paperwork and maintain paperwork and files for installation of equipment
  • Follow up on open quotes, back up for quote processing
  • Schedule Preventative and Maintenance Inspections and maintain Inspection Lists/paperwork for multiple equipment types and customers
  • Prepare quotes for repairs
  • Maintain Files of Equipment, including calling customers concerning estimates for overhauls, prices for new equipment, and completion of services
  • Perform clerical functions, as necessary, such as assisting with tracking of consignment, assisting walk-in customers, shipping/receiving, handling phone calls for supervisor, etc.
  • Follow up on completed service calls to verify customer satisfaction and promote service contracts.
  • Respond to customer requests/needs in a prompt manner
  • Review, update and respond to daily reports
  • Prepare and update and follow customer specific procedures as required
  • Update On-Call dispatch screens and maintain On-Call calendar
  • Maintain personal calendar for future projects/jobs/tech training
  • Back up responder for customer and corporate emails
  • Train new technicians/employees on operating system, dispatch process and procedures, customer specific procedures
  • Back up for parts ordering, walk in customers, UPS and answering parts phone
Minimum Qualification:
  • Accredited High School diploma, Business or trade school or GED
  • 2-4 years of Dispatching experience
  • Handle competing/multiple priorities
  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Office products excel, Word, Outlook
  • Excellent verbal, written, organization and interpersonal communication skills
  • Must be able to multi-task and thrive in a fast-paced environment
Physical Requirements:
  • Required to sit for prolonged periods of time
  • Extensive periods of time on phone
  • Lifting 25 lbs with or without assistance
  • OT as required
