ITW Appliance Components serves all the major Appliance OEM in North America, Europe, and Asia, and their tier suppliers. This global division manufactures mechanical, electromechanical and electronic components and assemblies with a variety of manufacturing processes including injection molding, stamping, automated and manual assembly. Position Summary:

Coordinates Customer Service activities from order entry through shipping.  Works directly with customers on requirements, pricing, and resolution of customer issues. Performs miscellaneous duties in support of the Customer Service function.


  • Enters customer orders, changes and generates standard and special invoices.
  • Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.
  • Provides customer service duties, processes return authorizations, product brochures, and general information as required.
  • Assists with phase-in/phase-out of new and existing products to limit obsolescence and meet customer expectations.
  • Assists small account sales via telephone and written correspondence.
  • Invoices and maintains tooling documentation files
  • Creates and updates reports for production reporting, inventory measurement, 80/20 analysis, and annual sales reports in support of corporate planning and budgeting.
  • Generates invoices and weekly reports
  • Supports the Finance team during month-end close activities as needed
  • Supports the Finance team with unapplied cash investigations
  • Oversees customer service department in Des Plaines.

Position Skills and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Communication from a four-year college or university and 3 to 5 years of experience within customer service in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • Experience with navigating an ERP system. JD Edwards a plus.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to respond to significant inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Effectively communicates and influences decisions at all levels of internal and external management and customers.
