Job Description

Position Summary:

We are currently seeking a Customer Service Representative for our facility located in Washington, NC. We seek a flexible, self-starting team player to serve as a primary point of contact for customers, providing information and solutions to customer requests.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Processes complex orders, with special attention to accuracy and timeliness.

Develops thorough understanding of customer base, market and individual customer needs.

Enters customer orders into the ERP system and invoices daily shipments.

Monitors and reacts to customer vendor managed inventory requirements.

Communicates daily shipping requirements to warehouse and obtains approval for premium freight.

Coordinates outbound transportation for domestic and international orders (FTL, LTL, Air, Ocean)

Monitors customers for delivery and performance ratings and ensures that delivery disputes and performance rating issues are adequately resolved.

Communicates customer forecast changes with sales and operations and maintains the customer forecast file.

Maintains customer master notes file, including carrier information, ship-to master file, customer cross-reference file, and other pertinent information

Maintains customer documentation notifications at time of shipment

Resolves inquiries on errors related to invoicing, pricing, incorrect shipments or returns.

Prepares and presents complex reports (i.e., sales forecast, production, inventory, etc.) as needed

Job Requirements

Job Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree highly preferred, combination of experience and education in lieu of degree considered

Minimum of 3 years of experience in customer service role supporting a manufacturing or similar industry required

Previous work experience that includes inventory management and sales reporting preferred

Strong written/verbal communication skills

Strong interpersonal skills

Proven ability to read and interpret sales contracts and purchase orders

Solid math and analytical skills

Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and professionally interact with customers

Proficiency in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Proficiency in inventory/order management systems is a plus
