Reports To: Customer Service Manager

 

 

Educational/Skills Guidelines:  College education and/or industrial experience of 3-5 years are required.  Employee must have working knowledge of computer software programs such as Microsoft Excel and Word.  Must have the ability to read, write, listen well, and negotiate with customers.  Employee must have the ability to remain calm in difficult situations. Good interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills are required.

 

 

1.0      BASIC FUNCTIONS

 

The position of Customer Service Representative (CSR) is to provide support of the ITW Powertrain Fastening's sales objectives; initiate sales through customer contact and provide support to the ITW Powertrain Fastening's sales agents.  This employee must also be able to service the customer in areas of inquiries, orders, quotes, samples and communications.  Requires detailed knowledge of products and operations and substantial independent judgment.

 

            The employee will be required to perform the following duties:

 

  • Respond to customer's inquiries, questions or complaints regarding company products.
  • Send samples to customers.
  • Receive and process all orders daily.
  • Coordinate problem resolution with appropriate departments.
  • Determine best method to resolve problems to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Make periodic calls to existing customers to determine satisfaction with the company products and service.
  • Analyze request for quotes, submit to Customer Service Manager for processing.
  • Become familiar with all ITW Powertrain Fastening's products in order to market their use and their advantages.
  • Undertake special projects as assigned.
  • Cross-train with department co-workers to increase the knowledge and efficiency of department.
  • Use computer to generate a variety of documents used in expediting order.
  • Perform a variety of administrative duties including, but not limited to, composing correspondence, filing, and preparing special reports.
  • Maintain good housekeeping standards.
  • Follow all rules, regulations and work processes set forth by the company.
  • Maintain a safe working environment.
  • Other duties as deemed necessary to meet the needs of the business.

     

   WORKING CONDITIONS

 

  • Office environment.
  • Occasionally required to work in plant area.
  • Extremely noisy conditions occasionally encountered.
