Job Description

As the Controller, you will be an integral part of the organization, providing direction and input for all processes, functions, and development, related to the operations of a successful manufacturing facility.  Responsible to provide strategic as well as day-to-day professional financial support and policy.

Reporting to the GM/Business Unit Manager, with a strong dotted line reporting to the ITW FEG NA Platform Controller. Primary functions include servicing the accounting, planning, reporting, and business analysis needs of business, as well as directional management and liaison activities between the centralized/shared accounting departments where appropriate.  The position is responsible for business unit finance activity associated with the specific business markets. This includes product cost evaluation and the accounting and control activities.

Responsibilities

  • Primary responsibility for assuring all financial transactions are in compliance with GAPP, Sarbanes Oxley and all other required financial accounting standards.
  • Direct management of accounting and finance activities throughout business unit.
  • In conjunction with ITW Group or Division Controllers, may develop and administer Company accounting policies and procedures as they apply to the specific business.
  • Coordinate the annual physical inventories.
  • Review standard cost development, internal control compliance, labor reporting and variance analysis, inventory accounting, expense control and employee training and development.
  • Work closely with IT in developing and maintaining the appropriate systems required to run the business.
  • Provide monthly reporting, monitoring and analysis of all inventories and inventory reserves.
  • Coordinate the annual unit costing process and provide Management with analysis of ongoing cost changes.
  • Preparation of monthly financial reports and related value-added analysis schedules.
  • Preparation of Long Range Plan, Annual Operating Plan, and monthly current Outlooks.
  • Presentation of monthly financial results to Division Controller, VP/GM and ITW Group Controller.
  • Special analysis to highlight areas for business improvement as directed by the Division Controller, VP/GM and ITW Group Controller.
  • May be required to maintain the historical fact book for the respective business and the recasting of historical data as deemed necessary.
  • Supervise business unit's financial and accounting functions including but not limited to cost, general, sales, and plant accounting.
  • Understand and utilize the ITW toolbox in all aspects of the job including prioritizing work assignments and developing work processes

Required Education

  • BS or BA in Accounting

Preferred Education

 

  • Masters of Business Administration or Masters in Accounting
  • CMA

Required Experience

  • 5-7 years, progressive experience, manufacturing preferred
  • 1+ years management experience
