Job Description

ITW Powertrain Metals Division serves major tier suppliers with tightly toleranced and innovative components for the automotive and industrial markets totaling approximately $300M in revenues globally. The Division holds  a  leadership position in North America, a growing presence in Europe and also supports ITW initatives for our facility in China. The division drives profitability by leveraging its innovative solutions,  design engineering and global footprint.

The Commercial Coordinator will report to the Sales Manager and will be responsible for support of the Global Commercial Team relevant to quotes and commercial activity.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Data input and gathering of information for customer forms: capacity, cost breakdown, packaging data requests, quotes, MSDS, supplier surveys, etc.
  • Maintain database of project and forecast activity for Sales professionals in addition to input of information into customer portals. (SAPHRAN, SupplyON, Covisint, etc).
  • Review purchase orders for accuracy against quote, contract agreement, and resolve anomalies with Customer Account Manager.
  • Use customer data to perform analysis and compile reports to assist the sales team in understanding business trends. Assists with compilation of forecasts and event- based planning of customer plans.
  • Work directly with customer engineering and purchasing personnel to effectively gather and prepare information such as:
    • Drafting of Quotation
    • Part searches, sales reports, customer analysis, etc.
    • Sample and prototype production and delivery tracking
    • Test data requests and submissions
    • Outside process costs to input into quote
  • Project Management responsibilities include: maintaining bill of materials, assigning part numbers, obtaining quotes from outside processors, and creating sales literature.

  • Minimum 4 year college degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • Ability to work successfully with a variety of functional areas and personalities
  • A proven record as a team player plus the ability to work independently given general direction.

Skills should include, but are not limited to:

  • Elevated proficiency within the Office software package, especially PowerPoint and Excel
  • High level customer interaction skill-set
  • An aptitude to multi-task while maintaining utmost accuracy
  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment and the flexibility to adapt to global conditions such as currencies, language barriers, and work hours related to time-zone differences, often requiring work during non-office hours for Asia, etc.
  • Project management skills
  • Customer Service and effective communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
