Job Description

Chemical Fill and Packaging Operator

Reports to: Production Supervisor                                               Shift: M-T 4:00 am – 2:30 pm

Responsibilities: The Chemical Operations position requires the knowledge to utilize production process equipment in accordance to the specified work instructions and procedures. The candidate must have the ability to be trained to learn all details of the specified process to keep all production in control. The candidate will be responsible for the respective equipment, training, and tools he/she is assigned.  The essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

·         Consult with team lead on production schedule

·         Quality focused; understands how maintaining the equipment impacts quality

·         Able to read and understand process travelers while efficiently setting up and operating filling & packaging machines

·         Handle all aspects of the chemical Filling Labeling & Packaging

o   Learn on how to print labels

o   Set up and operate automatic fillers

o   Label and pack containers

·         Demonstrate ownership for the production line

·         Complete and maintain all process records including process control charts and PM

·         Follow detailed labeling procedures and do in process inspections

·         Identify and track all dedicated tools in accordance with best 6S practices, maintain equipment cleanliness

·         Develop Knowledge to follow MRD build targets for the 80 products

·         Support and follow ITW in-lining including complete operator ownership of each production line

·         Continually employ 6S practices

·         Comply with all quality, safety, and work rules and regulations 

·         Communicate and drive new ideas to improve quality through continuous improvement activities

·         Maintain effective communications and positive working relationships with all coworkers throughout the business unit

·         Consistently evaluate and communicate areas where the 80/20 toolbox can be applied

·         Check work area for hazards

·         Support cost reduction activities

·         Act as a technical resource during root cause analysis

·         Assist in the training of less experienced personnel

·         Complete and maintain all process records including process control charts

·         Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

·         High School diploma or GED

·         1-2 years of manufacturing experience with a basic understanding of chemicals desirable.

·         Quality focused with attention to detail. Able to read and interpret work process procedures, as well as understand and apply in-process statistical controls.

·         Able to work well in a team and individually, as well as support Copy Exact processes, 6S, and equipment & process control monitoring systems.

**Able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs., work overtime including weekends, and different hours when necessary.
