Summary
We have a new opportunity available within our Calibration Laboratory.  The Calibration Standards Coordinator is responsible for a variety of tasks related to the laboratory and the distribution and control of equipment used by Instron’s extensive field service organization.  The position is also responsible for maintaining and monitoring various databases critical to the laboratory’s compliance to the ISO 17025 quality standard, and creating and issuing reports on key laboratory metrics.  In summary, this position plays in critical role in supporting the laboratory’s day-to-day activities and play’s an important role in the continuous improvement of our laboratory’s operations.
 
Requirements
Successful applicants will have a 2-4 year degree or equivalent work experience, and some experience gained in a customer service or logistics support position.  Specific requirements include:
 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Well organized, with an attention to detail, and a persistent and positive attitude.
  • Desire to work in a "service" environment where it's critical to respond to customers’ needs, handle stressful situations, and have the ability to assess the priority of customer’s requests for support.
  • Desire to take "ownership" of the equipment and processes being tracked and reported on.
  • Strong computer skills and the ability to learn Instron databases systems. Experience with excel preferred.
  • Some lifting required on a regular basis, up to 50 pounds.
