Position Summary:
The Buyer will report to the Division Strategic Sourcing Manager of Deltar Fasteners and will be responsible for a variety of specialized supply chain support including: inventory demand, purchase order processing, vendor/supplier and intercompany relations, including inquiries and inventory management.
  Location: Chippewa Falls, WI  
  Primary Responsibilities:
  • Create purchase orders for all direct and indirect requirements.
  • Resolve material discrepancies or issues as they occur during the procurement cycle.
  • Qualify new suppliers to ensure that their capacity, material management, and quality programs meet or exceed Deltar Fasteners standards.
  • Maintain primary and secondary suppliers to secure the availability of direct/indirect requirements.
  • Develop and maintain vendor scorecards for all direct/indirect vendors.
  • Complete price and cost analysis for contracts, purchase orders and savings opportunities.
  • Assist with developing a sourcing strategy for respective business services
  • Assist Division Strategic Sourcing Manager with negotiations of moderate to highly complex contract terms, conditions, payment terms, price, and rebates to ensure the most effective value and alignment with the enterprise cost model.
  • Prepare the required data and documentation for supplier meetings or negotiations.
  • Leverage volume to provide cost-effective solutions while maintaining acceptable inventory levels at each facility.
  • Partner with the Engineering department in identifying cost reduction opportunities for new and existing products.
  • Other tasks and duties as assigned

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or equivalent education and/or experience
  • 2-5 years’ experience in purchasing in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent negotiations skills
  • Detailed oriented
  • Ability to build strong relations with internal and external customers and vendors
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft (Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
  • Some travel may be required
