Business Segment Construction Products

ITW Construction Products, with approximately $1.7 billion in revenues and 4,000 employees across North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific manufactures and distributes fasteners, anchors, tools, equipment and software for the residential, commercial, and renovation sectors.

 

Position Summary

 

Reporting to the Vice-President of Global Innovation, the Business Unit Manager (BUM) is responsible for revenue of $50 million. The BUM will develop, manage and lead the implementation of sound business strategies to grow the Division’s revenues and operating income. The role will include driving both growth and change through the application of ITW’s Business Model by providing focus and leadership on business simplification, customer-back innovation and building quality leadership of the business unit. This position is located in Markham, Ontario.  The right candidate will be a key member of the Construction North America Leadership team. Scope: This position includes 4 direct reports (Marketing Director, Sales Director, Operations Manager, Finance Controller ) and a total organization of 30+ employees and $50 million in revenue. 

Primary Responsibilities:


•         Develop and execute the Long Range Plan (LRP) and Annual Plan (AP) growth initiatives using the key organic growth levers, go-to-market approaches and channel development for Construction Products Canada business.


•         Develops relationships with all key stakeholders, including key customers and intercompany partners.


•         Hires, develops, and retains a diverse pipeline of great leadership talent.


•         Understands the P&L and drive improvements in the Construction Canada business.


•         Works to profitably and sustainably develop new customers and business aligned to the strategic intent.


•         Evaluates market trends and develops / tests new approaches that create organic growth opportunities for the business unit.


•         Communicate effectively to foster a culture of engagement/accountability, cascading vision, creating goal alignment and coaching through feedback, development planning and performance management.


•         Manages the operational aspects of the business, driving improvements in cost, quality, and delivery.


•         Ability to travel as required – up to 25%

Job Requirements:


•         Bachelor’s degree required; Masters preferred


•         Minimum 10 years of experience leading different aspects of the business


•         Proven track record in meeting and/or exceeding P&L targets and consistently achieving on-time deliverables from multi-disciplinary teams.


•         Demonstrated ability to identify, recruit, and develop talent


•         Demonstrated ability to lead a team, set direction and vision and create / design an efficient and responsive organization.


•         Ability to travel when necessary.
