Business Unit Controller
Position Location: Gallatin, TN


Position Summary


The BU Controller will report to the Division Controller and beresponsible for forecasting, reporting, and managing a full set of financialstatements for ITW CIP, as well as establishing and maintaining accurate andeffective financial processes in accordance with ITW policies and US GAAP. The role will be a key member of the site leadership team and will partner withthe Plant Manager and operations team on increasing growth, increasingprofitability, and meeting the overall financial plan. This role will beresponsible for the talent development & management of the accounts payable/payroll,accounts receivable, cost accounting and staff accounting roles.


Duties andResponsibilities:


  • Manage and lead theITW CIP accounting team

  • Support PlantManager and leadership team to achieve unit goals and objectives, including theannual operating plan, long range strategic plan, capital investments and otherad hoc projects.

  • Provideoperational analysis to facilitate accurate decisions and strategies.

  • Ensure accurateand timely reporting of financial information in compliance with ITW policiesand GAAP.

  • Develop andmaintain financial reporting processes with strong internal controls thatadhere to ITW policies and exceed audit requirements

  • Facilitate andcomplete monthly close requirements including managing and reviewing the accountingstaff’s work.

  • Coordinateinternal and external audits as well as other corporate requests.

  • Perform/overseeannual and standard cost setting process and annual physical inventory.

  • Identify, leadand develop talent to maximize individual, team and organizationaleffectiveness in meeting company goals.

     


Job Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • B.S. inAccounting required

  • 7+ years ofaccounting experience in a manufacturing environment required with standardcost setting knowledge

  • CPA or CMAcertification preferable

  • Must be able toadhere to deadlines, manage conflicting priorities and work under pressure

  • Ability toanalyze financial data and prepare analysis and forecasts as needed.

  • Strongcommunication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills

  • Ability tocommunicate effectively at all levels of the organization and work well withina team

  • Beentrepreneurial in decision making and able to work within a decentralized workenvironment

  • Ability to lead ateam and be an excellent at developing talent within the organization

  • Knowledge of PRMSERP system and Microsoft Office software helpful

     

  • Work Environment

    The majority of the BU Controller’s timewill be spent in an office environment. Occasionally the incumbent may berequired to spend time in the manufacturing and distribution facilities as therole should have a good understanding of operational processes.
