Under minimum supervision, must be able to troubleshoot and perform preventive maintenance on various automated production equipment. Performs necessary repairs and upgrades to maintain efficient daily operation of automated assembly equipment.



Duties and Responsibilities:  


 



•         Perform root-cause analysis, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain automated and semi-automatic production equipment as well as robotic and vision systems. Keep equipment and employee’s safe, while ensuring equipment is brought back online in a timely manner.



•         Review and modify existing equipment as required to meet safety, quality, and production requirements including fabrication, assembly, and testing to support increasing volumes or to eliminate causes of failure or downtime.



•         Program, troubleshoot and repair/replace sensors, scanners, vision systems, motors, servo drives, indexing dials, and encoders.


  • Keep all manufacturing lines operational and assist manufacturing teams with problems relating to product quality and machine safety including lock-out/tag-out procedures



•         Assists with any new machine building and upgrades.



•         Assists with maintaining preventive and predictive maintenance system and records.



•         Completes and updates replenishment system for machine parts inventory.



•         Orders necessary repair items and preventive maintenance items using the purchase order system.



•         Regularly participates in problem solving teams.  Acts as a technical resource for other problem solving teams. Supports company initiatives to improve department efficiency and/or reduce costs


  • May Provide training to new and existing staff and support them in their career goals



•         Maintain record keeping/documenting of maintenance activities, keeps schedules, Create PM records in the system according to all equipment manufactures recommendations for daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual requirements. 



•         Maintains documentation of inspections for ISO 9001, IATF 16949, OSHA, State and Federal regulatory, and insurance purposes. Responsible for meeting and recording of maintenance activities to comply with requirements of IATF 16949.



•         Gets service quotes, researches costs to make decision with Plant Mgr. and within budgetary constraints.


  • Work with other team members and participates in team events and meetings.

  • Perform 6S activities and improvements as required

  • Identify and tag all safety hazards on machinery and in work areas



•         Understands, encourages, and supports 80/20 tools.


  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements



Minimum Position Requirements:



•         Able to read, write and speak English Fluently.



•         High school diploma, GED or 3 – 5 years’ experience with automation.



•         Excellent mechanical ability; PLC and vision system experience preferred



•         Computer literacy required



•         Strong work ethic, communication skills and a Strong Team Player



•         Ability to work independently and within a team setting



•         Must be able to operate lift trucks and fork trucks.



•         Able to stand and walk most of the job; Occasional stoop, climb, bend, reach.
