Job Description

POSITION:                 Atmosphere Annealing Operator
SHIFT:                        48/36 weekly rotating 2nd/3rd shift hours
HOURS:                      7:00p.m. to 7:00a.m.

  • Responsible for the operation of equipment to anneal rod and wire.
  • Loads and unloads coils of rod and wire using material handling equipment.
  • Operates overhead crane to move furnaces and load and unload bases.
  • Must apply correct annealing cycle for each charge.
  • Performs all adjustments of atmosphere gas per cycle requirements as well as check the atmosphere dew points to attain proper quality of annealed product.
  • Sample material that has been annealed in the Atmosphere Annealing Department.
  • Department Housekeeping
  • Follow all general safety practices and wear required PPE at all times
  • Operates overhead crane and powered material handling equipment in a safe manner to move product in and out of the department.
  • Basic computer skills
  • Self directed with minimal supervision
  • Good attendance

  • Verbal communication skills
  • Ability to solve problems & make decisions
  • Comprehend theory of basic heat treat principles
