Associate Engineer – Norwood, MA

Summary
 
Under direction of senior level engineers, the Associate Engineer will perform relatively complex work requiring independent selection and application of appropriate Engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria for accomplishment of designs, design adaptions, and modifications having specific, clearly defined objectives.  The level of engineering work performed usually has precedents and requires application of standard engineering techniques and knowledge, but it may involve work under direction of senior engineers on tasks relative to complex state-of-the-art areas. Additional duties and responsibilities below:
 
  • Performs such tasks as research and development of part or all of a product, and preparation of product and project documents and reports.
  • May supervise or coordinate the work of designers, drafters, technicians and others who are assigned to the same task and/or project.
  • May participate in coordinating project activity, product introduction and/or sales order requirements with customer representatives and Engineering, Marketing, and Manufacturing personnel.
  • Lead automation projects from starting concepts with the customer to installation at the customer facility.
 
Requirements
 
Successful applicants will have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent technical knowledge acquired by 2 years of industrial experience in the engineering discipline in which the individual is primarily involved in. Additional skills and abilities below:
 
  • Mathematical and/or computational dexterity
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Extensive SolidWorks experience, Certified SolidWorks Associate preferred.
