The Aluminum Product Specialist is responsible for providing holistic Aluminum weld process expertise through a technical understanding of filler metals and welding equipment to defend and grow the business with strategic end user accounts. This role will act as a consultant to the field sales team and ITW Corporate Account Managers by providing the technical expertise necessary to win business as part of the account planning process. Will drive growth via the presentation of ITW Aluminum solutions that deliver customer value through documented weld process improvements. Close collaboration with all ITW welding sales personnel to identify and support large end-user conversion opportunities and defend key accounts. Must be a self-starter, aggressive, a good team player, and possess the ability to make independent decisions and follow through to completion.

The ideal locations for this role to be based out of are: Dallas, TX, Houston, TX, or Atlanta, GA and will cover the Southern United States.

Essential Functions:

  • Serve as the ITW Welding Aluminum Subject Matter Expert driving welding process enhancements for customers. Apply process, product, and technical expertise to convert filler metal, equipment, and other ITW sales opportunities.
  • Create compelling, fact based presentations that monetize the value of ITW Aluminum solutions to end user customers.
  • Collaborative account planning with ITW Welding Regional Sales Team and Corporate Account Managers to convert/earn end user business.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and weld process audits to demonstrate the value of ITW Aluminum solutions and drive product conversions.
  • Provide on-going Aluminum training and technical support for strategic end-users and distributor partners – including, but not limited to, the ITW Welding Advanced Aluminum Seminars.
  • Maintain consistent verbal and written communications and key activities between ITW sales resources, distributor partners, key end users, and the ITW operating Divisions.
  • Ability to effectively manage assigned territory and prioritize through an 80/20 mindset of key accounts and activities.


  • BS in Welding Engineering or Welding Engineering Technology or equivalent experience and/or degree to perform all duties mentioned above.
  • Strong experience in Aluminum preferred OR a strong desire to learn and become an Aluminum expert.
  • Minimum of 2 years prior experience in the welding industry with hands on ability to weld; manufacturing and/or fabrication experience a plus.
  • Strong background in filler metals and metallurgy preferred.
  • Subject matter expert in manufacturing welding processes and welding variables.
  • Strong ability to communicate the value offering to all levels of end user management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and CRM system.
  • Strong communication, presentation, time management, and interpersonal skills.
  • AWS Certified Welding Inspector qualification preferred but not necessary.
  • Ability to travel overnight at least 50%.
  • Bilingual language skills preferred.
