Job Description

BASIC DESCRIPTION:

This position will be responsible for Accounts Payable, Sales & Use Tax calculations and filings, month end journal entries and other tasks and projects as necessary. This individual will be an active member of the Central Accounting team and will assist in adhering to and applying all ITW principles and internal controls.

Essential Functions:

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Sales and use tax - compilation of data, filing and answering questions
  • Accounts Payable - vouchering and entering invoices, weekly freight file, tax review, check run and foreign wire transfers
  • Procurement card, American Express card and travel (Concur) expense management
  • Intercompany netting
  • Monthly journal entries and accruals
  • Unclaimed property management
  • Miscellaneous projects as necessary

Job Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Two-year degree in accounting with 2-4 years of relevant experience.
  • Prior sales and use tax filing experience preferred.
  • Strong problem solving, organizational and data entry skills and willing to learn multiple job functions. Must be extremely detail-oriented and able to meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft office products (Excel and Word) and be skilled with other diverse computer software systems.
  • Must be a team player with a positive attitude, high motivation and excellent interpersonal and strong communication skills; both in person and on the phone.
