Job Description

A division of Illinois Tool Works Inc. (ITW), a Fortune 200 Company, ITW Specialty Films Division is part of the Specialty Products Segment.  ITW Specialty Films designs, manufactures and markets specialized coated and/or metalized films for the Transaction Card, Security Documents, Medical IV bags, and Consumer Packaging markets. The division leverages unique core competencies and technologies in films, foils, laminates, holography and transfers to address customer needs globally. The ITW Specialty Films Division has manufacturing and sales in the Americas, Europe and Asia.

The Accounting Clerk's is responsible primarily for Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Payroll duties.  The position reports to the Controller, and is an integral member of the finance team.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Accounts Receivable function including invoicing, customer returns, cash receipts, credit management and collections.

  • Accounts Payable function including matching of vendor invoices to receiving papers and processing payables for disbursement.

  • Review procurement card purchases and prepare the monthly journal entry.

  • Process biweekly payroll in Dayforce - ensure supervisor entries comply with pay policies, ensure proper set-up of new employees, and enter/submit special changes as necessary.

  • Maintain temporary worker timecards, match with temp agency invoices and post month-end accrual.

  • Update and distribute daily and monthly finance reports; including, sales, booking, RMAs (credits), etc.

  • Assist with month-end closing process - reconcile AP and AR subledger with general ledger, create and post assigned month-end journal entries, maintain paid time off accrual file to support monthly entry, etc.

  • Assist Human Resource Manager with assigned tasks, including but not limited to, United Way Campaign, issuing of building keys to new employees, order employee uniforms, event planning, etc.

  • Ensure records of responsibility are maintained in accordance with ITW Record Retention policy.

  • Responsible for general office support - answering the telephone, sorting/distribution of mail, greeting visitors/guest, managing office equipment and vending machines, and ordering office supplies.

Job Requirements


Skills and Qualifications

  • Associates degree in Accounting or Finance with (2) years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Must demonstrate behaviors consistent with organizational values including integrity, simplicity, trust, respect, and shared risk.

  • Possess level of financial acumen required to favorably contribute to the finance department by identifying areas for improvement and delivering results.

  • Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple priorities while at the same time maintaining attention to detail.

  • Ability to effectively assess a situation and determine the best path to resolution.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Intermediate Excel skills at a minimum (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP’s, formula functions).
