Job Description

Position Summary:

The Account Manager – Seating will report to the Global Sales & Technical Manager – Seating and will be responsible for providing sales and account management to the major OEM customers.  Responsible to grow existing accounts, develop new accounts and establish strong contacts with customers.  Initiates, and follow up on new product development opportunities and growth opportunities to support the division. Individual shows great ownership in front of both customer and internally, while working on long term solutions that deepen our customer relationships.


Core Responsibilities:


•         Work closely with the Global Sales & Technical Manager to develop current customer base by providing technical solutions and ensure sales strategies and customer targets are achieved.


•         Plan and execute the business development goals set forth by the Divisional Leadership Team.


•         Collect and maintain basic information on customer accounts to identify key stakeholders as well as product needs and concerns.


•         Responsible for building strong relationships with customers to identify pain points and potential customer back innovation opportunities.


•         Ability to develop strong technical product knowledge and basic understanding of manufacturing.


•         Shared responsibility for maintaining current accounts and selling new products to existing accounts.


•         Apply ITW innovation strategies by utilizing the ITW Toolbox.


•         Champions the ITW Leadership Development framework and demonstrates personal effectiveness and leadership that creates a culture of high performance.


•         Other duties as assigned.

•         Bachelor degree in engineering or business with emphasis on technical.


•         Ability to communicate internally and external customers.


•         Proven ability to generate respect and trust from team and external customers/contacts.


•         Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills with ability to work with other locations. 


•         Strong technical skills with proficiency in MS Office.


•         Knowledge of 80/20 Toolbox and its principles or proven ability to focus and prioritize.


•         Willing to travel up to 50%; primarily domestic and occasional international.

 

Desired Experience and Traits:


•         Previous experience in the automotive


•         Experience selling to OEMs and suppliers
