Summary: As the Account Manager you develop and oversee all aspects of our customer relationships for the growth of new business.  This function will lead the product development team in the award of all new programs.  These include developing and growing customer relationships and intimacy, developing and executing a strategy to grow business with our customer that is coordinated with the global strategy for our customer.  The Program Manager acts as the key interface between the customer, program management, engineering, design, and production. 


Responsibilities:  

  • Identifies, develops, and maintains customer contacts, then deepening customer intimacy, to ensure ITW is a preferred source in targeted products/platforms.  Works with customer to identify value-added opportunities.  Responsible for winning new business at required profitability levels.
  • Developing an account strategy to win new business, to grow in both revenue and profit, that is coordinated with the GKAM account strategy, and then execute, leading both customer and ITW Teams.
  • In conjunction with engineering, develops and presents product proposals to customers.  Participates in customer program meetings, coordinates with customer purchasing to negotiate pricing within policy and initiates request for quote process.
  • May take lead role in monitoring progress of projects to meet customer commitments and internal ITW policies and procedures.  Promotes cost savings and attainment of ITW and customer quality expectations.
  • Works internally with ITW product engineering in helping to develop products that satisfy customer requirements by influencing advanced engineering, initiating and summarizing competitive analysis, developing action plans, and coordinating input from engineering and manufacturing.
  • Participates in sales forecasting and in platform planning process.  works as part of a team to implement product line sales and marketing strategies.

You as the Account Manager act as the face of ITW to the customer, developing relationships with all customer departments/functions, through new business award; the key interface between customer launch team, sales, engineering, design, and production.

Job Requirements

Requirements:


  • Adhering to the ITW 80/20 methodology in all daily activities.
  • Support the Product Development Team in the development of new engineering methods and automation.
  • Working with the GKAM to coordinate and maintain a global account strategy, while focusing on a regional account strategy.
  • In cooperation with the Continuous Improvement Team, work to reduce costs through innovative application of value analysis and waste minimization programs.
  • Support purchasing in search of cost effective materials and equipment.
  • Works to remove obstacles that prevent rapid payment by our customer.
  • Understand and adhere to IATF16949 / ISO 9001 procedures specific to department.
  • Will be responsible to follow several active new projects and prepare formal reports.

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Engineering or equivalent.

Experience:


•         Five years sales experience in a tier one supplier environment.



•         Two years’ experience in plastics preferred.



•         PC skills required.



•         Must be a results-oriented team member with a strong sense of urgency.


•         Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with good attention to detail.

  •    Effective at problem solving and project planning and organizing.
