Account Manager

Location: Detroit/Grand Rapids/Zeeland, Michigan


Division Description: ITW Drawform Division serves major Tier suppliers with tightly toleranced and innovative components for the automotive and industrial markets totaling approximately $200M in revenues globally. The division holds a leadership position in North America and a growing presence in Europe. The division also supports ITW initiatives for our facility in China. 

The division drives profitability by leveraging its innovative solutions, design engineering and global footprint. 

Position Objective: The Account Manager is responsible for representing ITW Drawform’s technical capabilities to existing and potential new customers to sell new products.  

Essential Functions:

  • Establish personal rapport with customer base to identify current and future customer needs, while working with cross-functional team to develop technical deep draw solutions to meet those needs.
  • Communicate frequently with customers; visit active and potential customers as required to maintain or achieve healthy relationships at all levels of their organization.
  • Provide other departments with related information they need to carry out their assigned responsibilities in meeting customer requirements. For example, customer technical requirements, critical features, quality, processing, prototypes, timing, etc.
  • Effectively understand and communicate our technical capabilities and value proposition
  • Develop and manage target and open projects which have a high confidence of translating into sold orders.
  • Continually strive to identify and develop new markets, offering unique deep draw solutions solving customer pain points.
  • Manage diversity of accounts.
  • Work with customers to offer alternatives to unresolvable situations.
  • Negotiate LTAs, pricing, tooling, contracts, etc.
  • Conduct initial product P.O. / contract review according to ITW policy and procedures.                   
  • Complete other duties as assigned or directed.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, technical degree desired.
  • 3 years of Sales background, with Sales Engineering preferred.
  • Automotive industry experience, knowledge of stamping a plus.
  • Ability to communicate and negotiate, and to close a deal.
  • Ability to effectively resolve complex problems among internal departments, customers, and representatives.
  • Strong technical skills with proficiency in Office 365 programs.
  • Some travel required. (approximately 30%)
