Job Description


Ensures molding machines and peripheral equipment aremaintained and efficiently producing good quality parts.

Primary Responsibilities:

•Moldset-up and adjustment on molding and assembly repairs, equipmenttroubleshooting and minor repairs, quality checks, material handlingincluding filling and emptying machine hoppers and grinders, housekeeping andoperator instructions.

•Maintainmachines in proper operation: To include verifying set-up parameters ofprocess, as well as condition of machine. Verify all monitors are on and setto proper parameters.

Troubleshooting of processing problems and defects.

•Settingmolds, dies, etc., to conform to scheduled requirements, to include leavingthe work station clean and organized, with quality parts coming from theprocess, while minimizing downtime.

•Periodically(as set by the Manager) checking machine cycle time and yields are met,quality of parts coming from process, and overall consistency of process.

•Maintainsset-up sheets. •Maintaining production records for shift.

•Ensurelast shot in capture for molds coming out of production.

•Ensuregood housekeeping.

•Hasauthority and responsibility to stop molding process due to quality concerns.

•Performanceof Preventive Maintenance.

•Trainingof Material Handlers and Operators as needed.


•Assureproper product is running

•Assistwith cost saving, labor, & ergonomic improvements.

•Supportthe shift needs as necessary

•Completeany and all tasks as assigned.


Overhead Crane,hand tools, hand and lift trucks, grinders, scales and drying equipment.

Job Requirements


  • High School Diploma or GED required

•        Minimum 5 years Set-up Technician experience in plasticinjection molding environment.

•        Complete understanding of injection molding machine(s)and auxiliary equipment operations and repair.  Strong problem solving and analyticalskills.

•        Good communication both written and verbal skills.

  • Knowledge of Wittmann robots.
  • Understanding of OSHA requirements (i.e. Lockout/Tagout, Forklift)
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule which includes overtime and weekends

Physical Demands

  • Must have excellent near vision for accessing functionality of equipment
  • Must be able to bend, stoop & reach, get onto and off of molding machines, stand for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to lift up to 65 pounds

•        Must be able to push & pull molds w/mechanical help. Specific visionabilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, colorvision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus
