Job Description


The Plastic Molding Machine Process Technician is primarily responsible for ensuring molding machines and peripheral equipment are maintained and efficiently producing quality parts.  The ideal candidate should have at least 3 years of technical experience with plastic injection molding and experience in setup, processing, and troubleshooting skills with both electric and hydraulic injection machines and auxiliary equipment.  Some supervisory experience a plus.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the setup and changeover of both electric and hydraulic injection molding machines
  • Responsible for accurate mold set-ups; start-ups; and process monitoring and maintaining a safe and clean work area
  • Responsible for Performing quality checks according to control plans and fills out required quality/production paperwork prior to turning operation over to Floor Technician.
  • Responsible for Performing Predictive and Preventative Maintenance
  • Responsible for start/stop of Robotics
  • Operates hand tools, grinders, scales and drying equipment
  • Material handling, monitoring of auxiliary equipment, and minor maintenance required
  • Responsible to Communicate with prior and oncoming shifts to give work assignments and expectations to achieve production requirements and promote shift interaction and awareness
  • Responsible for Monitoring production for accuracy and efficiency and work with quality inspectors to ensure part quality/performance
  • Must Promote safety by abiding to all related policies and procedures of ITW Seat Components
  • Shift leader for the location
  • Follows all procedures as outlined by ISO 9001, OSHA and IATF 16949
  • Any and All Tasks as Assigned


Job Requirements


  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 3 years recent experience as a process setup technician in the field of plastic injection molding with strong mechanical aptitude required
  • Knowledge of robotics (Wittmann preferred), hydraulics and/or electrical systems for both solid state and microprocessor controlled machinery
  •  Above basic math skills and reasoning ability
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills and the ability to perform preventive maintenance functions.
  • RJG processing skills a plus
  • Must be able to stand/walk for full manufacturing shift
  •  Moderate computer skills including use of Microsoft Office
  • Able to lift up to 55 lbs
  • Team player with good attitude and strong work ethic
  • Good Communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills.
