The Accountant is responsible for analyzing financial information and preparing financial reports to determine or maintain record of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, or other financial activities within the organization.  The accountant will be a business partner to members of management and support field sales and service operations. Additional interaction may also take place with outside other Marking and Coding businesses, banks, customers, vendors, and ITW Corporate personnel

  • Prepare, examine, reconcile and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness.
  • Manage data requests for state sale tax audits.
  • Assist both internal and external auditors during audit engagements.
  • Analyze data and turn it into meaningful information (reports, recommendations, etc.).
  • Provide support and stand as a business partner to commercial and operations personnel within the business.
  • Maintain good internal control procedures to safeguard company assets in accordance with ITW Financial Policy and US GAAP.
  • Perform the financial aspects of our vehicle fleet management program (insurance, maintenance, leases, etc.) and conduct training for new hires.
  • Assist and/or lead assigned projects focusing on continuous improvement by applying key 80/20, PLS, and USa principles and techniques. Make process improvement/efficiency recommendations. Champion the use of the ITW toolbox.
  • Maintains focus on continuous improvement by applying 80/20, PLS, and USa principles/techniques and makes process improvement recommendations to management.
  • Supports the Controller and team members with other duties as assigned

Education: Associate’s Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting required; Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a Finance related field preferred.

Experience/Skills:

  • 2-5 years Accounting or Finance experience
  • Working knowledge of a Chart of Accounts
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent data entry, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Capable of working independently and on a team 
  • Effectively manages deadlines
  • Able to multi-task and proactively adapt to changing priorities
  • Proficient in MS Office with intermediate Excel skills
  • Knowledge of ERP systems a plus
  • Manufacturing experience a plus
  • Excellent communication and people skills including ability to read, write, and communicate effectively to a variety of different audiences
  • Strong desire to succeed with high personal standards for quality of work
  • Able to travel to for training, operational visits, and meetings, as necessary
  • Knowledge of US GAAP reporting requirements and experience in their application
  • Audit experience a plus
