Job Description


M&C Specialties, a business within the Pressure Sensitive Adhesive & Components division of ITW is searching for a Warehouse Lead to join our team. The successful applicant will partner with our production and operations team to drive efficiencies in our warehouse. BASIC FUNCTION: In collaboration with the production manager, ensure timeliness and accuracy of warehousing, shipping, receiving, scheduling and finished good packaging.


 


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


  • Communicate with customers and manage shipping methods while leading with M&C preferred shipping methods
  • Organize and optimize warehouse considering inventory movement and usage
  • Develop and integrate Kanban inventory ultimately leading to direct ordering and management of visual inventory
  • Manage and schedule finished good shipments considering delivery and shipping term requirements while monitoring on-time performance and shipping errors
  • Explore, review, and suggest shipping options to improve costs and efficiencies
  • Receive shipments into ERP system and perform any necessary incoming inspections
  • Create and manage international shipments
  • Assign scheduled jobs to workers and monitor outputs utilizing ERP system
  • Ensure speed, quality and safety goals are met
  • Provide mentoring and support, resolve personnel issues, and represent warehousing and production area interests in meetings
  • Participate and/or lead ITW toolbox improvement projects and encourage toolbox principles on production floor
  • Hold employees accountable for area improvement, cleanliness and organization
  • Identify, collect, and evaluate efficiency improvement suggestions
  • identify and schedule up-skilling and development of team members
  • Identify production dates for new orders
  • Communicate schedule and production goals to team
  • Adjust schedule as needed
  • Participate in the development of a safe and healthy workplace and comply with safety instructions, policies, procedures to help ensure own safety and that of other M&C employees
  • Perform job duties in a safe and conscientious manner
  • Stop work activity if safety concerns arise and address and report immediately

  • Experience with documentation and technical specifications and drawings
  • Strong computer skills with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook as well as ERP system experience
  • Exposure to Six Sigma Process Excellence tools and / or Lean Manufacturing along with ability to identify trends

EDUCATION and/or EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate degree preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:  While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to sit, walk and stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to finger, handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 50 pounds.
