Position:  Technical Sales Specialist – Stamping and Metal Working

Department:  Technical Sales

Reports To:  Technical Sales & Support Manager

This job description should not be construed to include every function or responsibility that may arise. Successful candidates will perform tasks as assigned or as deemed necessary in the course of day to day operations.

POSITION SCOPE SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Technical Sales & Support Manager and responsible and accountable for providing technical sales support, training, and technical sales expertise to targeted end users and distribution partners with a focus on stamping/metal working by:

●  Identifying and developing sales opportunities in target market segments

●  Assisting Industry Segment and Field Sales with stamping/metal working product sales, service, trialing and new opportunities.

Incumbent will be based in Tucker, GA location and report to the Technical Sales & Support Manager.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

●  Develop or assist in the development of new target segment selling leads

●  Function as the Stamping/MW product trainer and subject matter expert

●  Collaborate with Marketing and R&D regarding new product development, marketing collaterals and other sale focus initiatives

●  Identify and develop target market segments for existing ITWPB products with a focus on Cedar, Metal Mates, Accu-Lube and Rustlick products.

●  Provide field technical support to key distributors and their branches to drive discretionary sales through point of sale, promotions, training, trade shows and other programs/processes.

●  Coordinate & collaborate with marketing and sales departments to prepare and deliver presentations and materials that educate customers on functionalities and feature of products.

●  Collaborate effectively with other departments (i.e. Field Sales, Marketing, Operations, Industry Segment Sales and R&D) to define, manage and align growth opportunities and initiatives.

●  Provide and manage reports to demonstrate progress in goal achievement through CRM system (SFDC).

●  Professionally represent company in several diverse settings that include active participation in industry presentations, customer visits, promotional activities, sales meetings, and trade shows as needed.

●  Provide monthly reporting to Technical Sales Manager with weekly one on one meetings to include pertinent account data as it relates to specific projects.

●  Maintain an in-depth understanding of competitive products and services within the marketplace to develop and propose long term strategies to seize profitable business opportunities

●  Interfaces with other departments, customers and/or suppliers to coordinate and resolve quality related issues.

●  Follows the 80/20 philosophy in prioritizing daily tasks and serves as a contributing member of the Technical Operations Staff.

●  Professional represents company in a number of diverse settings including active participation in required audits and other related meetings.

●  Foster, communicate and exemplify the values of ITW; act with integrity and trust, operate with simplicity, treat everyone with respect, take shared risk.

●  Travel required (up to 70%).

●  Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

CORE SKILLS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

●  BS/BA in business or technical field with 5+ years distribution marketing / sales experience or equivalent combined experience in stamping and metal working industries.

●  Exceptional track record in developing and implementing sales growth strategies.

●  Proven experience in value selling, 80/20 business principle implementation, and customer back innovation processes.

●  Fluent in the use of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Power Point), Outlook, and CRM (Salesforce.com a plus)

●  Proficient with current technology.

●  Able to travel as needed.

●  Proficient with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). Strong written, verbal and collaborative communication skills.

●  Possess business analytical and strategic problem-solving skills.

●  Leads and behaves from an enterprise first perspective.

●  Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner; develop alternative solutions; use reason when dealing with emotional topics/situations.
