Job Description

In this position you will design, modify, develop, implement, and test high quality Embedded Linux and 8 and 16-bit microcontroller application software for Food Machines products.  You will participate in the testing process through code reviews and analysis as well as test witnessing and certification of software and will be responsible for Food Machines product graphical user interface and logic development.  This individual will rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job and must work with little supervision.  Creativity and innovation is a very important aspect of this position.

Essential Functions:

 Plan, develop, and implement projects as an individual contributor or as a member of a cross-functional team working on Food Machine products

 Design and/or evaluation of software components and systems of limited scope requiring knowledge of accepted engineering theory and principles

 Apply analytical engineering theory to specific designs, or evaluates designs with cause and effect analysis and statistical data analysis. Perform analysis of data and makes appropriate modifications; follows design through series of related processes

 Provides written input for project reports, focusing on assigned tasks

 Responsible for discreet tasks on projects.  Tasks will involve more complex or diverse design techniques

 Participate in design reviews and provide feedback to the team

 Lead code reviews for assigned tasks and document the software design

 Develop and execute testing for new software enhancements that assure correct functionality.

 Active participant in integration and regression testing

 Logical, deductive reasoning and attentive to details

 Creative, adaptable, flexible, problem solving skills, sense of urgency, listening skills, organized

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  BS in Computer Science (4-year degree)

  Minimum 2 years software development with an object-oriented programming language (C++)

  Linux command line experience

Bonus Qualifications

  MS in Computer Science

  Qt5 graphical user interface development

  Python scripting language development

  Familiar with use of the SVN version control system

  Experience with development projects employing USB, i2c, SPI, RS422/485/232 protocols

  SQL Database development concentrated on query language, db creation, and maintenance

  Squish automated test script development
