Software Engineer – Norwood, MA

The Opportunity

Instron is looking for Software engineer to lead software development in our automation group on our top tier automated robotic systems. Testmaster2, a Windows desktop application, is written in C# with a WPF based UI. The Automation team is close knit group of talented mixed discipline engineers who design and develop a range of fully automated custom testing machines.Your responsibilities will include working on all aspects of software development, from architecting, developing, to testing. Working with mechanical and electrical engineers to create innovative and robust solutions to customer needs.

The Requirements

  • C#, WPF, Multi-threading
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Experience of working with hardware and using RS232 and TCP/IP communication protocols.
  • Traveling 10% domestically and internationally
  • Agile team player.
  • Self-reliant with strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • BS or MS in Computer Science, alternatively other engineering discipline with software experience
  • Knowledge or experience with robotics is a plus
